You know yourself better than anyone (except maybe your mom and your dog), so you know when you need to sit down and work, when it’s time to discuss a project or just chat.
Every conversation has at least
two sides, and you don’t want to take up precious time talking to a coworker by rambling on about how your dog recently tried to destroy your new carpet. Listen to what your office colleagues have to say, and when their tone starts to get a little down or a little sad, listen to them. Do your best to understand them when they need a friend, and not just on a work level.
