Research for Bookstores: The Most Effective Automated Marketing Tool

We continue our large study of the effectiveness of tools for different business areas. We have already talked about the best of automated marketing in the beauty and fashion industry. Today we will talk about the third segment — bookstores.

As in the previous parts of the study, we used our clients’ data. For six months — from January to June 2023. Bookstores connected to our platform almost never use product recommendation blocks on their website pages or use them minimally — for example, two blocks on the website of one of our clients bring in 1% of the store’s total revenue and only 4% of the revenue that the client receives from REES46 tools. Therefore, we excluded product recommendations from the study in order not to draw statistical conclusions based on the results of one bookstore.

Trigger mailings bring an average of 2% of total revenue, the share of revenue types and operations of content marketing among REES46 tools is 8%. The median ROMI is 435%.

Results and the winning tool
On average, REES46 tools bring 33% of revenue to bookstores.

All clients use several tools at the same time. Usually, these are mass betting data  and trigger mailings and “smart” search, which allows you to search for books by specific parameters, such as author, title or publisher.
